The Vancouver Hash House Harriers
Run No.1243
at 1815, on 06-September-2010
by
Impaler and Dangler
at
Bridgeview Park, North Vancouver
Our GMs laid this week's run; which is to say Impaler planned it, runned it, floured it and finished it. Dangler provided moral, immoral and beer check support, he being determined not to enter the forest. Of course, it was The Long Weekend Holiday, and so support was tempered by the excesses of the many who didn't come, and the courage of the few who overcame their hangovers and general lethargy to make an appearance.
The weather was overcast but lightening, and not a drop of rain feel from start to finish. Impaler set the run up the East side of the Lynn, emerging at the head of Hastings Creek Park at Ross Road and curving West and then South back towards the start. This is an interesting area and until we started to move West the run could have gone either way: across the Lynn, or where we actually went.
A quick jog down the hill, through the neighbourhoods, brought us to the beer check at Waldorf School. Chips were munched, and happy hashers slurped down cider, beer and juice to their hearts content.
Dangler and YFI provided a ferry service down to Bridgeview Park, and we enjoyed Mountme's cherries, hand-picked by virgins from his very own trees. How time flies, his daughter is off to Uni - blimey! Shagger extracted beer from his vehicle and we cheerfully imbibed a few bevies of Storm's finest (according to some). Slippery Dick produced ancient Hash Trashes, hidden underground in a locked vault for 20 years (and smelling just like it).
Low Blow produced an oyster knife from her purse, and Slippery Dick offered her some prairies oysters. Pylon looked terribly well groomed, rather like a golfer - perhaps he is our own Tiger Woods?! Porno Prick received the numerous hash trashes for no particular reason. The bald mofoes were called in to celebrate their Ka.
The hares received the appropriate down-downs and we then retired to the Bridge Between for sustenance, only to find that it closes on Mondays. The buggers! We made our way to Seymours, losing several hashers en route, but  gaining the delightful Kreme Filled (worth a dozen men).
Next weeks run is somewhere, but I forget exactly which location, or who the hare is. Oh, well, check-out the website...
