Rain was threatening but held-off long enough to get through Down-Downs and retreat to Oscar's Pub for their Sunday Roast. 

Dangler, Impaler, Squid Lips, Maple Dick, Analyser, Pigeon Stool, Roast, Aw Fuck It, Shagger, Porno Prick, Plunger, Pylon, Manhole, Mad Dog, Malice, Cream-puff, Abysmal, Beheader, Swish and, much later, Goat Fucker all made it. Without much ado, and with only brief reflections upon the reasons for our existence, we introduced ourselves and set-off. 

Our proximity to the 2nd Narrows Bridge added excitement for Roast and P2 who were the only ones foolish enough to cross the bridge on the East side only to return immediately over the West side. It was Hardon's placement of a check that caused everyone else to circle around - anything to avoid crossing the bridge - and of course it took only the better part of a minute to find trail immediately beneath the bridge heading East on the Burnaby Heights Trail system. True trail led from the South side of the West walkway of the bridge down towards VITERA and thence East as already described. 

Those who did not run over the bridge - ie, almost everyone - reached the beer check after 3.8 Km and a merely 28 minutes of running. After waiting for fifteen minutes Hardon finally showed-up and in a hissy-fit accused the 16 thirsty-hashers present of failing to do "my" run and then proceeded to drive away at high speed with Pylon firmly attached to the bonnet. Common sense prevailed (ha bloody ha), and the hare finally returned to provide the assembled masses with beer, joined much later by P2 and Roast.

It was agreed, even by Hardon that the first check was the cause of all his grief, and for this Hardon has regained possession of Hash-Shit.  In any case, all's well that ends well. What else? Squid Lips celebrated his 45th Birthday. Pylon sported a magnificent black-eye courtesy of Goat Fucker. Hardon found a hat.
