Welcome to the Victoria French Immersion Summer Experience.

The VFISE program is a summer day camp started by two French Immersion teachers who were dismayed to discover how little opportunity existed for students to practice their French skills over the summer. They put their heads together and came up with a plan for a French Immersion summer day camp where students have a chance to practice their skills in a fun and stress-free environment. VFISE campers will participate in French activities and tours in and around the beautiful city of Victoria.

Campers will meet every morning at Studio 4 Athletics in the heart of downtown Victoria. Once everyone is accounted for, campers will head out for daily tours and activities. Please note that all campers will be expected to communicate in French at all times. Weekly destinations may include, but are not limited to, the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre, Beacon Hill Park, the Parliament Buildings, the Victoria Bug Zoo, Craigdarroch Castle, Undersea Gardens, Miniature World, The Maritime Museum, IMAX, and the Victoria Butterfly Gardens.

The VFISE program is endorsed by the Canadian Parents for French, BC and Yukon chapter.

Who can attend?
VFISE is for campers aged 5 to 11 who are enrolled in French Immersion, Late French Immersion or Francophone programs.
(If your child is older than the age mentioned, please e-mail or phone to discuss, as exceptions can be made. Older children, for example, may wish to participate as junior camp counsellors.)

Where?
VFISE camp offers campers an opportunity to be an explorer in fabulous Victoria BC. Home base is beautiful Studio 4 Athletics, located in a heritage building at 715 Yates and Douglas.
