Give thanks to our Lord, His only Son
And cherish His Christmas, everyone

 Cherish His Christmas

Christmas brings such a time of love
Each tender heart holds so much of

Unselfishness thrives, trust is strong
The purpose to give, send love along

A time of pleasantries, patience too
Good Wishes to all, all feelings true

Thankfulness follows each fine deed
Gifts from our God, never from greed

Great the rewards that joy does bring
Like the beauty in hearing angels sing

We pray for our loved, each so dear
Especially those who can't be near

Many leave home to bravely serve
All freedoms we have, they preserve

Do pray for our troops, as we should
And their loved ones too, if you would

Give thanks to our Lord, His only Son
And cherish His Christmas, everyone

 Visions Past

The Christmas tree was real
That heavy tinsel, special feel

So many lights, in sparkling view
Glass ornaments, hung neatly too

An angel perched, atop it all
Seen shining down, it did not fall

The tree was watered in its stand
It's special smell, came on so grand

Nativity, was always perched
In middle window, all would search

Side windows dressed with candlelight
I'd check the view, from sidewalk sight

All was right, this child felt sure
That special time, lived in his door

I thank you God, for visions past
Which come alive, to hold and grasp

Oh Little Child

Oh Little child so near the tree
The precious view you clearly see

Adorned in white, a glistened sight
A chilling warmth, it's nearly night

Excitement grows within each eye
A splendid match, so bright yet shy

You make each wish, each secret part
A ray with God, so fills your heart

Your wants are small, unselfish child
Not to be wrapped, branded or styled

A world of hope, filled full of peace
A caring call, let love increase

Next year this child so wants to be
Back out to watch, this growing tree

What of our choice as time goes by
Will hope and peace and love climb high

Dear Mother

Oh how I will miss you this Christmas Day
You'll be so in my thoughts, my first away

Past memories shared, I have locked inside
The same ones you keep, not a one denied

So close we have been as I grew by you
Now look at your child, I'm a soldier true

I feel that respect you instilled in me
From God through you, it forever will be

One day I may pass this on to my own
With memories held of what I was shown

Your worry for me must be hard to bear
Have faith, my dear mother, He made this clear

Each time I do leave, keep your head up high
I love you so much, don't want you to cry

Remember that star which showed three the way
My spirit does soar like theirs did that day

Because you so cared, I stand proud and tall
Merry Christmas to you, Best Mom of all

 The Picture

From the country to the city
You can find great Christmas cheer

The sound, the smell, the visions seen
Binding hearts, spreading love to share

A tree of joy within the home
Watch as mistletoe may appear

Old Christmas carols bring such life
There music seems new each year

Where some do dwell a hope is kept
For a love who will not be near

In a special place, by the tree
Stands the picture of one so dear

Adorned in uniform to serve
The pride of this home is clear

At tender moments from a heart
Come prayers for God to hear

Let us think of who is prayed for
And with love pray to God, sincere

Through our Savior born on Christmas
Comes the faith to deal with all fear

And the glory that is Heaven
We have faith to be one day there

Marley

Old Marley bore a ghastly view
Decked out in chains his money grew

He had one friend when time ran out
Who shared his greed stained mirrored pout

One Christmas Eve he made his way
To try and help his friend to sway

That friend named Ebenezer Scrooge
Paid him no mind, he'd be no stooge

Yet after Marley left him cold
Three spirits showed, as was foretold

Each vision helped to change his way
He rose with love on Christmas Day

So if you've lived for money too
Please look to Scrooge, he held your view

Imagine what your time could yield
Befriend mankind, a worthwhile field

You'll take no money when you die
Spread love to please God's watchful eye
