This project was a joint effort of John Anderson and Rama Schneider. We developed a hand made site that will allow each user to be listed in searches, have a profile, post in forums, and submit questions. This website is built on a dom xml framework, using php and javascript. It also uses FFMPEG , Lame MP3, FAAC, FAAD, XVID, ffmpeg-php. The site has full video and audio capabilities, I personally focused on getting the audio and video modules, so they could convert any format into a video. As well as creating a webserver that is secure enough to allow users to upload videos. Basically this system is pretty decent for a small youtube site. We havent had a chance yet to do any special graphics designs to the site but this is a beta version of the application, though the design of the application can easily be expanded new pages can be easily added. Practically every element of this site is dynamic. We used a system of storing xml in the database to store information, this way we need only access so much mysql resources. Rather than having to select multiple columns you can just select the users xml data, than parse it into whatever you want with dom xml, or simple xml. I find that very powerful that this system we designed using xml. This makes the parsing abilities of this site very flexible. Most of the template pages Rama designed, using a combination of XPath, Dom XML, mysqli. Which made the tasks of grabbing the data from the forums, and users very nice. I tried to use a functional approach. to creating the video and audio pages so it would reduce the upload time. So the entire program that I created consisted of 160 lines of code. Which is a result of performing boolean simplification to the script repeatedly. When I first wrote this page it was 950 lines of code. After boolean simplification I had created an equivelent script in only 160 lines of code. Which is a miricle. People always ask me what my goal is when I write code. I simply say my goal is to create a piece of code that runs in the smallest possible space.
