Settings on User's side

This section teaches you (the user) how to how to set up your computer to bypass provide bypass firewall filters.
  1. Download and install Tunnelier from here or here
  2. Run Tunnelier, go to "Services" tab, "Enable SOCKS/HTTP Proxy Forwarding", and enter IP and port numbers as shown below:

  3. Go to "Options" tab, uncheck "Open Terminal", "Open SFTP", and "Open Remote Desktop" as below




  4. Go to "Login" tab, enter your friend's IP address as Host, chose Port 22, and enter your username.
    Then Chose "initial method" to be password, and enter the password that your friend has sent you.



  5. You are done setting Tunnelier. Click on Login. If your friend (provider)'s server is running you should login to his/her computer
  6. Final Step: You should setup your browser. Note: we recommend using Firefox, not Internet Explorer because of security reasons.
    1. If you use Internet Explorer, Go to Tools->Internet Options->Connection tab->Lan Settings->Use a proxy server->Advanced. Make it look like this:

    2. If you are using firefox, Go to Tools->Options->Network->Settings->Mannually Proxy Configuration. Make it look like this:

  7. Click on Ok on all dialog boxes.
  8. Go to your firefox addressbar and type about:config.
    1. Click on "I will be careful, I promise"
    2. On "Filter" text box, type "network.proxy.socks_remote_dns". If its value is not true, doble click on it and make it true.
    3. Restart Firefox
  9. Go to this web page: http://whatismyipaddress.com/. If you see your friend's ip address, this means you are are bypassing the filter. Congratulations! you are done!
