2M Wish List

Children benefit by having good role models and warm, loving adults around to work with them.  If you have a little extra time and the desire, your help will be greatly appreciated.  There are also ways to help our class that do not involve working directly with the children.  Please let me know if you would be willing to help with any of the following:

Read with students

Help with art projects

Help student groups during math lessons

Share a talent or expertise of a subject with students.  For example, maybe you can solve a Rubik’s Cube or you like to talk about astrology.

Prepare teaching materials (photocopy, cut, laminate, etc.)

Help prepare Scholastic book orders

Type final drafts of student-written work

Bind class-made books

Apply clear Contact Paper to classroom library books (you wouldn’t believe how sturdy it makes them!)

No time to volunteer?  We are also very appreciative of donations that enhance our learning environment, such as:

  • floor pillows
  • clipboards
  • hula hoops (for floor centers)
  • jump-ropes,  sidewalk chalk, kickballs (for recess)
  • gently used books
  • contact paper, both clear and printed

Does your workplace typically throw away materials that we could use in our classroom?  Consider donating recyclables to the Hoover School such as:

  • adhesives
  • office supplies
  • paper
  • anything you think might be useful for educational or artistic application
