Vegetable (Veggie) Deluxe

Following their removal from the UK McDonalds menu a few years ago, most McDonalds branches now serve a Spicy Veggie Deli in a normal bun, calling it a Vegetable Deluxe. Not quite as tasty as the old one, but better than nothing!

The important thing to remember is that the branches stocking this Vegetable Deluxe normally DO NOT show it on the menu.

A couple of branch managers emailed me to say that because they "stop selling delis at 8pm there is no hot option for vegetarians" and they are "therefore are obliged to sell it after 8pm in all company operated stores across the country. It really isn’t that hard to make so if you ask and the counter staff say no demand to talk to the shift manager and explain that you want a hot vegetarian option and not a salad."

All you need to do is ask at the counter!

The only time you might see it on a menu is on night menus (see Strand Night Menu).

Also, if you have any vouchers for special offers for Big Macs etc, it's worth a try asking if they'll do a Vegetable Deluxe instead of the Big Mac. They do have to be made specially, and they're under no obligation to help out, but if you're lucky you might get one, so give it a go!
