The next Apps for Good eight-week course starts at High Trees Development Trust in Tulse Hill, Lambeth on Monday 21 February 2011. It is a free course where young people age 16-25 who are not in full-time education or employment learn to create mobile phone apps that make a difference to them and their community. The course is the brainchild of technology and education charity CDI Europe and is backed by Dell and a number of other technology and mobile giants. Students don't just develop an app, they also learn key business and entrepreneurial skills, have the opportunity to network with professionals in the tech world (Orange, Dell, Talk Talk, Google etc) and we help them find employment and internship opportunities via CDI's contacts in the tech industry. The Guardian ran a story on the first course: www.guardian.co.uk/society/2010/nov/17/mobile-phone-applications-benefit-communities Apps for Good has recently won a Learning Without Frontiers award for inclusion and innovation. www.learningwithoutfrontiers.com/lwf-awards-winners-2011/ Deadline for applications is Monday 7 February 2011. This is the third Apps for Good course to take place at High Trees. More information at www.cdieurope.eu www.appsforgood.org Contact Katie Fyfe
