True North Media House

Sponsorship Overview

The True North Media House (TNMH) is media creation facility with production resources, collaboration space, as well as, arts and educational activities during the 2010 Olympics and ParaOlympic Games. The TNMH will serve as an entirely unassociated and independent complement to the official media centres.

TNMH is run and organized by a dedicated team of volunteers and by co-operating with other non-profit and business groups - the organizers of the campaign and facility have reached out to VANOC and other official representatives to inform of intentions. We intend to create a space in which people can enrich understanding of civic issues and arts & culture news along with under-reported sports-related stories during the myriad events. The centre will also point participants to resources about covering events within IOC IP guidelines as administered by VANOC and Federal legislation, as well as protecting civil liberties for freedom of expression.

TNMH will provide a forum for organizations to meet media covering the events for their hometown newspaper, a blog or webzine, or to major news outlets. The center will provide high-speed internet, audio and video production facilities, green screen and interview space, press conference setup, and workstations to participants.

The organizers will determine a registration process but aims to be available to as many media makers as the facilities allow, with the possibility of multiple facilities located around the region.

In order to make the True North Media House possible, the organizing committee is currently seeking to create partnerships and obtain sponsorships from businesses.
