The products that we use on asphalt is not only good for the asphalt, but is a safe product to use.
The sealant that we use for sealcoating is a solvent based material, also known as an oil based material, which is called Gilsonite. Gilsonite is a liquid tar that is used in the process for making asphalt. By using Gilsonite on your driveway you are putting the oils and tars back into the asphalt that have been worn away from the sun. Gilsonite actually sinks into the asphalt rather than sitting on the surface like most other sealants.Having a sealer that sinks into the asphalt will make the asphalt strong again, and not so brittle. Gilsonite makes your asphalt look like it was just paved, it makes it stronger, and it makes your asphalt more resistant to the weather. You can actually watch rain drops on a rainy day bounce right off your driveway!
The product that we use to repair and fill cracks is a hot pour rubber called crack sealant. This product must be cooked until it reaches 375 F. Thats hot! Once the rubber is hot enough it is poured into the cracks to be repaired and it cool's off almost immediatly. The rubber we use is very strong and durable. This product will actually stretch over the years it sits in the old cracks, and forms itself to stay in the shape that the crack has formed to. This is awsome! This will prevent any new cracks from forming in that same area again, which in the end saves you money!
