Welcome to the Valley Aero Modelers (VAM) radio controlled model airplane club located in Appleton, WI. Our non-profit club fosters and promotes the hobby of flying R/C models, and is chartered by the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA - Charter 670). The club holds monthly meetings at the Little Chute Library, maintains Quarry Field north of Appleton, and rents space at the Anderson Sod Farm west of Appleton. Both fields are open to the members where each field fulfills unique model and flying styles. Come by the field and check out the action most weekend afternoons depending on the weather. Introduce yourself and feel free to ask questions. About the club: With around 80 members, the Valley Aero Modelers is one of the larger model airplane clubs in Wisconsin. Regular club meetings are held at the Little Chute Library east of Appleton. The club meetings are held on the 2nd Monday of the month starting at 7pm and usually lasting until 8:30pm. The club has several designated instructors who are available to teach beginners. This instruction is offered free of charge by these members, in the spirit of promoting the hobby to newcomers. Even club members who are not dedicated instructors are always willing to lend a hand and extend advice to beginners. New and prospective members are always invited to attend the monthly meetings, and everyone is always welcome to stop by the field and check out the action for themselves! New members are always welcome to join. The club does require all members to hold a current membership with the AMA. Download a club brochure to share with friends and acquaintances. |
