Case study 3: Gabriela

 Case Study III – Gabriela

Gabriela lives in the north of Italy and she is 33 years old; at the age of 24 she got a degree in Electronic Engineering in Iasi in Romania, her home country. After University she accepted several temporary jobs as an Engineer in different Romanian organisations. At the age of 28 she moved to Italy to look for a better paid job. She couldn’t find a job that met her requirements, so she obtained full time work firstly as a Care Assistant and then as a Child Minder. On an evening she took Italian lessons to improve her language skills. This is where she met Giovanni her future husband. Gabiela married at the age of 30 and then didn`t work for 3 years so during that time she undertook an ICT course with a qualification which was cost free. During the course she became pregnant and gave birth to Luca shortly afterwards. Now that Luca is 2 years old, Gabriela feels that she wants to restart her career using her existing skills.
