The Montreal Optometry students made their way to Waterloo to join us and we all enjoyed the celebration. Thanks to the 1st Year Social Reps for an amazing job of planning, decorating, and of course for the epic idea of the PHOTO BOOTH! It was another fantastic year for the UWOSS EyeBall! OptomSpiel - Sunday January 30, 2011 Annual Curling Tournament was another hit - great costumes, some hilarious acrobatics on ice, and of course some serious sweeping! Thanks to TopCon for their continuing support for this event. Congrats to Matt Fennel, Kassandra Shaw, Braden Nicholl and Lindsay Copeland for taking-out all the other teams for a ride to the button (1st place)!   2nd Place - The Outsliders     The Winners!    Corneal Cup - week of January 4-8, 2011 The annual Corneal Cup Optometry Hockey Tournament sponsored by CooperVision was a terrific way to start of the winter term and celebrate another year of Canada's favourite sport! Congratulations to the Mighty Tear Ducts (first year class) for their clenching of the Corneal Cup! They beat out the champions from 2010, the Fighting Iris, in a whooping 7-2 final! The Mighty Tear Ducts also took home the Spirit Award for the highest attendance and participation during the tournament. Way to go Mighty Tear Ducts! Thanks to all the players for your sportsmanship and hard work out there on the rink, especially those non-students who helped the 4th years make a team. Thanks to everyone who came out to cheer on the teams, we rocked that arena! And thanks especially to the 3rd year sports reps for running this tournament, you did an awesome job! Thanks to the Lost Faculties for another year of amazing music and a rocking party!    It was that time of year again - where Optoms bring out their best artistic and creative skills to create amazing costumes to beat out everyone else! This was one of the best dressed Halloween Parties EVER! Slo-Pitch Tournament - September 24-25, 2011 Slo-Pitch tournament with all four years of Optom students - a great way for everyone to mingle and show a bit of competitive and friendly athleticism! A great showing and tons of fun! |
