The department of Mathematics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will host a Midwest Algebraic Geometry Conference for Graduate Students on October 23-24, 2010. This conference is an opportunity for graduate students working in algebraic geometry to present their work and meet in a friendly environment. TalksThe conference will consist of twenty minute talks by the participants. Participants are encouraged to give talks on their ongoing or completed research projects. All areas of algebraic geometry are welcome. Jordan Ellenberg has put together some nice advice on giving good math talks. Plenary LectureThe conference will also feature a plenary lecture.
