About UWARES

University of Washington Anesthesiology Residency Economics Society (UWARES) was founded in 2009 and is
run by Anesthesiology residents. The purpose of this society is to help educate and better prepare residents on
the business economics of providing anesthetic care.

The group meets monthly to hear from a guest speaker, usually from the greater Seattle area. Topics covered
include
billing practices and compensation models, daily anesthetic costs, healthcare policy, personal finance,
debt management, contract negotiations and investing.

Meetings are in the evening on weekdays and refreshments are provided. Email invitations will be sent out, and
all events will be up-to-date on the website. Location may vary.
