Hello All, We will be meeting tomorrow night at the Study Center as usual. After pizza, Friar Glenn Spencer will discuss the Catholic/Lutheran/High Anglican view of Communion. Weather, time, and inclination permitting, we'll attempt a mini golf outing after the talk unless most everyone would prefer something closer to home. Blessings, Adam |

Greetings GCF, We will be meeting as usual this Thursday night at the Study Center for pizza at 6:00 followed by a talk by Bill Wilder on adult baptism. After the talk we'll plan to adjourn to Para Coffee to enjoy some hot beverages and conversation. This is another reminder that if you are graduating this Spring and wish to partake in the annual graduates' dinner (everyone is, of course, invited too) please email me with a reminder as to which program you're in and what days (May 7-8, or May 11-12) would best work for you. Thanks, Adam |

Hello All, We'll resume our Thursday meeting schedule this week. As usual, we will meet at 6:00 for pizza at the Study Center and our own soon to be doctor Tim McConnell will speak on infant baptism. Next week Bill Wilder will address the other side of this issue in his talk on adult baptism. After the talk the plan is to have a game night at the Study Center, so please bring snacks and games if you have the inclination. Also, we are starting to plan our annual dinner to honor this year's graduates and the tentative dates are either May 7th or 8th, or 11th or 12th. If you are graduating this year please email me to let me know if you would like to come and which day(s) will work for you. Blessings, Adam |

Hello GCF!
As you know, GCF tries to do one social event per semester that has some sort of service aspect. Last semester we made shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child, an organization through Samaritan's Purse that sends Christmas presents to children in need. This semester we're going to help children a little bit closer to home by participating in a 5K run/walk for the benefit of Camp Holiday Trails, a summer camp for special needs children located out past the Ragged Mountain Natural Area, right near Trinity. Here's a link to their website if you're interested in checking it out: http://www.campholidaytrails.org/.
The run is Saturday the 21st at 9 am and registration is $15 for students and $20 for others ahead of time, and $25 on race day. (It is a one-time entry fee, no need to ask people for money, and goes directly to CHT. It also includes a t-shirt while supplies last:-)) The registration form can be found at the CHT website and there are four ways to register: by mail, online, in person ahead of time at Ragged Mountain Running Shop on Elliewood, and in person on race day.
If you're interested in participating, please register however is most convenient for you and meet GCF on race day at 8:30 am at the entrance to the UVa Bookstore. The start and finish to the course is in Newcomb Hall Plaza, so we will be right where the action is.
If you've never done a road race, have no fear! This is a run/walk, so it is absolutely no stress if you are not the fastest runner in the world, or even the fastest walker:-) The point of it is just to get outside, have a good time and help out a local non-profit that benefits kids who need it. If we have enough people, we may organize a running group and a walking group so we can stick together.
Finally, I'm sorry for the long email and the short notice - I take all the blame for that! But I hope you'll consider particpating. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Thanks!

Hello All, We will be meeting at 6:00 at the Study Center on Thursday for pizza, followed by the last hour or so of Nuremberg and a discussion led by prosecuting attorney Rick Moore. Please try to join us if you can and feel free to bring snacks and anything else that would enhance your movie experience. Also, the spring semester GCF retreat, which generally involves games, food, fun, and some rather informal discussion will be Friday evening through Saturday afternoon on the weekend of February 20-21. The cost is only $5 and it should be an excellent and relaxing time. More details and a sign-up sheet will manifest themselves in the near future. Take Care, Adam PS-If you missed the first half of Nuremberg last week (as I did) I am planning to watch it tomorrow evening at my house. Drop me an email if you want to come out and see it--Kate and I would be happy to you |

Dear All, We will be meeting at 6:00 on Thursday at the Study Center for pizza. However, our meeting will take a different format than usual this week because we are watching the first part of the movie Nuremberg, which details the post World War II trial of Nazi officials and allied efforts to assert that what the Nazis did was objectively wrong. We'll have a brief discussion of C.S. Lewis's concept of natural law after the film. Next Thursday, February 5, we'll finish the movie and have a lengthier discussion led by prosecuting attorney Rick Moore. Feel free to bring snacks, popcorn, bean bag chairs--whatever you want to relax and enjoy the movie. Hope to see you there, Adam P.S. Remember that GCF will be hosting a Superbowl Party at Bill Wilder' house in Crozet this Sunday beginning at 4:00. Directions to follow later this week. |

Greetings All, This is a second reminder that Thursday night meetings will resume this Thursday at 6:00 with pizza, followed by Lois's talk on Mere Christianity.
