About Us

Graduate Christian Fellowship (GCF) is a fellowship within the unique environment of graduate school, GCF seeks to call those within this context to live out of a robust faith, within a witnessing community, and under the Lordship of Christ, in their studies as in all else. GCF exists to provide fellowship as well as intellectual and spiritual support for graduate students seeking to bring every thought captive to Christ during their graduate studies at UVa.

Robust Faith: We desire to be conformed to the image of Christ. To achieve this end, we cultivate habits that deepen our spiritual lives such as regular individual and corporate prayer, small group meetings, rigorous Bible study and other foundational disciplines.

Witnessing Community: We choose to gather regularly as a community of people to learn and worship, to challenge and care for each other and to serve as a welcoming place for for both believers and seekers. As a community, we demonstrate and proclaim the gospel to the university so that Jesus Christ is esteemed above all else. We seek to serve others through prayer, direct service and relationship to demonstrate God's love to the world and with the hope that others will come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.

Lordship of Christ: We seek to glorify God in all that we do and want Him to be central to our daily lives. To accomplish this end, we provide lectures, discussions and activities that make us more aware of how we can deliberately incorporate our faith in Christ to our studies, our relationships and other worldly issues.
