Chalica Chalica begins on Monday, December 6 and runs through Sunday, December 12. Chalica was originally conceived in 2005 as a way to celebrate and put into intentional practice the seven principles of the Unitarian Universalist tradition - one a night - for seven nights marked by the lighting of a chalice each day. Gifts that reflect the principle for that particular day may be given, or you can choose to focus more on mindfulness and action. Daily readings for Chalica are available in video form here and as on online document below, which individuals and families can use in their home celebrations. If you have ever bemoaned the lack of uniquely Unitarian Universalist holidays during the year, then this is your chance to get in on the ground floor of a new tradition in our movement. Mixed Emotions: A Chalica Sermon (December 5, 2010)
Emeritus Minister David Bumbaugh has graciously provided a copy of his theme talk, Rethinking Universalist History, delivered on Saturday, October 16, 2010 during our 150th anniversary celebration. And, if you are interested in the content and tone of sermons delivered over the years at UUCS, check out these past messages from previous ministers in our Old Sermon Archive. |
