My favorite elective course was The Essentials of Helping Relationships with Professor Daniel Seeman. I enjoyed this class because Professor Seeman has a way of making you feel very comfortable to talk and share life experiences. In sharing these experiences I feel I not only learned how to be a good helper, but learned a lot about myself. It really helped me to organize the priorities in my life. Definitely recommend it :) -Alyssa Klausing Social Gerontology with Dr. Cynthia Spitler. Dr. Spilter managed to make a seemingly dull class enjoyable. In general, the class was interesting and especially worthwhile if you have any desire to work in a nursing home facility as an SLP. Most of the work involved writing subjective papers over topics discussed in class. Dr. Spitler provided excellent feedback on EVERY paper and was always really approachable and encouraging.
