Master Carver/Engraver Craig Hone has been teaching classes and doing commissioned carvings for years.  His artistic knowledge and teaching ability are nationally recognized.  Craig will teach students skills and techniques to carve a buffalo skull onto a walnut plaque.  He will cover bit and tool selection.  By the end of the one day course everyone should be able to complete layout, carve, and finish their project and learn essential powercarving tips that can be applied to a variety of projects.

Karl will spend 2 days teaching how to relief carve wildlife onto an ostrich egg. He will cover bit selection, carving techniques, and his unique India ink process to add incredible depth to the carving.  He will have a few different patterns to choose from including a ram, moose, wolf, and elk.

Date: January 15 (9am-4pm)

Tuition: $75

Materials: $10-25 (depending on size of knee)

Ted will be coming in from Washington to teach this one day course on how to carve a face into a cypress knee.  If you have never worked with cypress knees you are in for a real treat.  Each knee is totally unique which allows the carver to utilize their own creativity in designing each project.  Ted will teach each student how to design, layout, carve and finish their own cypress knee.
