Utah Avalanche Club

We are the Utah Chapter of the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club of North America.

The Utah Avalanche Club is the local Chapter of the National Chevy Avalanche Fan Club. We are a group of Avalanche owners and enthusiasts brought together by a common interest in a very innovative truck. From the time the Avalanche was released in late 2001 owners of this "Sport Utility Truck" nationwide have felt a common bond, more so than any other truck. As a club we enjoy many club sponsored events centered around our trucks. During the year you will find us modifying our trucks, cruising to historical sites and other attractions within the great State of Utah, Camping and just generally having a great time as a club. Every year the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club of North America also holds a National Get Together which draws members from all over the country for a week of fun, friendships and, of course, lots of awesome trucks! There is no cost involved to be a member of our club. New members are encouraged to visit our discussion forums. Please feel free to join into our discussions and to join us at any of our monthly Get Togethers. Thank you for taking a minute to explore our Club and we hope to see you at one of our events soon!

A little about the Chevy Avalanche.

The Chevrolet Avalanche was introduced in 2001 as the worlds first "Sport Utility Truck". The most unique feature of the Avalanche is the Midgate. Think of a tailgate that is mounted in the center of the truck. With the rear seats folded forward (a'la Suburban and Tahoe) the midgate can be opened creating a 4'X8' bed space for hauling building materials or almost anything else you can imagine. Another feature of the midgate is the removable rear window. The window may be removed and stowed on the midgate which then allows the entire rear wall of the truck to be opened. The bed is enclosed and secured by removable bed covers keeping your contents secure and dry. The first Avalanches where only offered with "Cladding". The cladding is the plastic panels at the bottom of the body which provide protection while offroading or the occasional shopping cart accident. From 2003 to 2006 Chevrolet offered the Avalanche with Cladding or a version without. In 2007 the Avalanche received a re-styling changing its appearance to one closer to its Suburban and Tahoe heritage. The Cladding went away with the 2007 re-style.
