  • 4 May 12 Annual Meeting & Chapter Luncheon Our Chapter unanimously approved the slate of Officers and Directors as proposed by the Nominating Committee.  We've made solid progress over the past 4 years from the days when we could not even fill a complete slate.  Now we have an executive team of 4 officers and 4 directors representing classes from 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s, a range of 32 years of graduates.  Other highlights of the luncheon include an interesting presentation by Lance Despain, former Marine (if this is possible) and now head of the N.C. Military Foundation.  In order to improve military vehicle safety and performance and to expedite delivery to the field of such improved vehicles, Lance brings together Spec Ops from all services ...

  • 13 April Chapter Luncheon Afghanistan: One Marine's Perspective First Lieutenant Jeff Clement returned from his second deployment in Afghanistan in February 2012.  Jeff is assigned as  Current Operations Officer (S3A) at Combat Logistics Battalion 6, at Camp Lejeune.  As Current Ops Officer, Jeff managed predeployment and annual training requirements for 700 Marines in preparation for theirdeployment to Afghanistan.  While deployed to Afghanistan, Jeff’s logistics battalion, operating out of Camp Leatherneck, managed all logistics support to the 8th Marine Regiment in Helmand province, including supplies of food, water, fuel, mail, munitions, etc. During Jeff’s first tour in Afghanistan, he was a Truck Platoon Commander and the convoys he commanded delivered over 150,000 gallons of fuel and hundreds of tons of supplies ...

His distinguished 30 year career saw him fly attack and fighter jets from the decks of 12 different aircraft carriers. His final assignment was Deputy Commander in Chief of US Special Operations Command.   • Support our country, the Navy, the Academy, and the USNA Alumni Association.
  • Provide local alumni with social and professional gatherings to renew old friendships, develop new ones, and to extend their professional networks.
  • Guide local students to the Academy and inform them of the benefits of  careers as officers in the Navy and Marine Corps.
