Operations Manager:  Responsible for managing a staff of six to originate construction and take-out loans in partnership with Clayton Homes and Remington Homes.  Staff duties include performing analysis of applicants, determining construction budgets, reviewing construction plans, monitoring general contractors, obtaining inspection reports and certifications, issuing draws, and processing and underwriting, USDA, FHA, VA, and conventional loans. (Promoted from Bilingual Loan Originator Position.)

 

7/91 – 6/98      American Express MoneyGram.  Littleton, Colorado.

Bilingual Compliance Analyst:  Performed duties encompassing all policies, standards and procedures adopted by MoneyGram to ensure compliance with federal and state laws governing wire transfers. The responsibilities included duties necessary to meet the technical requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), forfeiture statutes, and related laws and regulations.  This involved screening high-dollar transactions according to the “Know Your Customer” rules and taking steps to detect, prevent, and report known and suspected violations of regulation--such as structuring to evade federal record keeping and reporting requirements--and other risk-avoidance measures.  (Promoted from part-time Bilingual Customer Service Representative position.)

 

3/89 – 7/93       First Trust Corporation.  Denver, Colorado.

Operations Supervisor:  Served as Supervisor providing technical and procedural expertise in the administration of IRA’s and qualified business plans according to the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA).  Duties included supervising a staff of 12 providing administration in the areas of client services, transfers, distributions, research, and trading.  Other responsibilities consisted of managing the department budget, interviewing and selecting staff members, developing a team mission and goals, providing direction and performance expectations, giving verbal and written performance appraisals, conducting progressive discipline, responding to customer complaints and regulatory inquiries, and working on various leadership committees to solve problems and enhance service.  (Promoted from Transfer Agent, Customer Service Representative, and Operations Specialist positions.)

 

8/87 – 11/88    Juran & Moody.  Clearwater, Florida.

Securities Broker:  Consulted investors on the economy, financial markets, securities laws, and exchange rules.  Executed trades of stock, bonds, mutual funds, and limited partnerships.

 

3/86 – 8/87      Automotive Service Association.  Tallahassee, Florida

Marketing Director:  Promoted trade association services and benefits to members and prospective members through phone calls, mail campaigns and field visits.  Wrote and designed brochures and other promotional items for association trade shows and conventions.  Coordinated and marketed education programs for automotive shop managers and repair technicians.


Assistant Lobbyist
:  Assisted in representing the association to influence the Florida Legislature on several major bills, including mandatory motor vehicle inspections, hazardous waste removal and state licensing of mechanics.  Conducted research and provided written reports used in the drafting of press releases and political brochures.  Participated in organizing and hosting legislative receptions and political action committee meetings.
