About Kyokushin and the USA Seishin Karate Association
What to expect:
This challenging program, rooted in traditional Japanese Karate, will help you develop a sustaining Martial Art attitude. It will teach you about
inner strength, respect, and focuses on etiquette, gestures, and philosophy in every class, at each age and level. Classes are taught in a supportive environment that places a high level of expectation on each student. In addition to rigorous training, there is a strong focus on the teachings of Martial Art philosophy. This is presented in a way that both very young beginners, as well as adult students, can understand. Parents are encouraged to watch or even join classes to learn along side their children, and should remember that young students learn primarily by example.
What to wear:
New students should come to class prepared to sweat, in loose fitting comfortable clothing such as sweatpants and a T-shirt.
Shoes, socks, and all jewelry must be removed before class for safety reasons.
When a student is ready to make a commitment to the class, a Do-Gi (Karate uniform) may be purchased through the USA Seishin-Do Karate organization, as well as training equipment such as protective pads.
