Parents and Friends,

Your outpouring of support for the USAFA Flying Team has been fantastic and it is heartwarming to know that so many people care. 

Your generosity helped make our competition a huge success.  We took first place overall as well as first place in both flying events and ground events.  Most importantly, there was not a single safety incident.  If you want to see the complete results they are posted online at http://www.nifa.us/2009_REGION_1_RESULTS.html. 

When we first faced our dilemma and requested assistance, we had no idea what to expect. We are pleased to report that through your generous support, we raised almost $3300 for our hotel and food expenses.  In addition, the Hyatt provided us rooms for the duration of the competition for only $800 -- far below our original estimate.  We are extremely grateful for the Hyatt's generosity.  We used $500 for dinner food expenses that were not provided by the Academy.  We plan to use the remaining money to seed several fundraising projects for the team.  This allows us to keep a significant amount of money in the team fund and permits us to handle any future needs without need of outside assistance.  Since we did not request funds for these purposes, we would be happy to refund your gift; if you wish email a refund then please contact us at C11Nathan.Frey@usafa.edu.
