![]() Dan Taylor Class Piano Dan Taylor holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi. Taylor’s major teachers include Dr. Jerry Alan Bush, Dr. Lois Leventhal, and Mikola Suk. Taylor was a state winner in the Alabama Music Teachers Association’s State Festival Auditions for two years at the high school level and four years at the college level. Among his awards and scholarship honors are the first ever recipient of the Stevie Ray Vaughan Memorial Friends of Music Scholarship and the John C. Chester Memorial Scholarship awarded annually to an outstanding piano major at the University of South Alabama. He also appeared as soloist with the Port City Symphony Orchestra in a series of youth concerts while in high school. Taylor began his college teaching at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and in 2006 joined the music faculty at USA. A life-long resident of the Gulf Coast, Taylor divides his time between Mobile and southeast Louisiana where he maintains a private teaching studio and is a sales consultant for a New Orleans area piano dealership. |
