Uriah was born December 17, 2008 at 11:24am at Methodist Hospital in Henderson, KY. He weighed in at 9 pounds and 4 ounces and was 22 inches long. He had a medical condition known as Omphalecele where the muscles in the abdomen don't completely fuse together. About 2 cm of his intestines protruded out the umbilical cord. Twelve hours after his birth, he was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville, KY and a couple of days later he had a very successful surgery and recovered in Neonatal ICU. Cheri was released from the hospital that same day and joined me right after his surgery in Louisville. We stayed at the Ronald McDonald House, which was truly been a blessing. After nearly a week in the Neonatal ICU, we brought Uriah home on Christmas Eve and had the best Christmas ever.
