Progress on our new Montessori Center (Green Valley)... March 1,2012 Update: The commercial lease has been signed and internal design work has started. As per our plan, we decided to limit the first year enrollment to 2 Primary classes (Age3-6) of 20 children each and a Pre-Primary class(Age 2-3) with 10 children. The enrollment is going at full speed since February 1,2012. Look for our Advertisement in Frederick Child(April) magazine, and Gazette newspapers. Feb 1, 2012 update: We are in the process of expanding in Urbana area due to high enrollment demand for the Fall 2012-2013 school year. We plan to start in late June with Summer camps. We are a Montessori center Southern in Frederick County Maryland, offering full day program for a very limited number of children ages two and a half through six. We are conveniently located just a mile East off of I-270, Exit 26. Our goal is to provide quality learning environment with right tools, and to encourage the growth of the children's natural curiosity and joy of learning in a safe nurturing setting. The dedicated classroom is specifically designed for teaching children. We use all new Nienhuis Montessori materials, small library, computer system, kitchen, nap room and a huge fenced lawn with a new play set. Ms. Sangi Krishnaswamy is our Montessori Directress. She is a Montessori certified teacher, worked in a private Montessori school for several years and started Urbana Montessori in June 2007. She has Masters Degree in Communications, and regulary attends national and regional level Montessori conferences, networks with other teachers, subscribes and reads industry specific journals. She has a passion to teach children, and shows Excellence in whatever she does - and children like her, too! Ms. Jennifer Carter, a talented childcare professional is our Teacher Assistant. She loves teaching, sharing her Arts & Crafts talents and runs the Spanish program.
Currently our classes are in a residential home in Villages of Urbana, operating with Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) Office of Childcare (OCC) License. We are affiliated with American Montessori Society (AMS). For 2012-2013, due to high enrollment demand, we are expanding to an additional location around Urbana area (Hyattstown, Exit 22 off I-270 in Frederick county, MD) We urge you to visit our classroom with your family before submitting an application - a visit is worth a thousand words!
