Mr. Hicks advises we will not be doing the 4th of July Parade this year. The instrumentation did not work out again, and we're just too small to make it work. Hopefully in future years, our size will increase and missing a few people here or there won't make that big of a difference.

UHS band will play at Commencement on Sunday, May 27.
Report at 2:00 p.m. to the Assembly Hall Pass Gate. Note that a $5 parking fee applies to everyone parking in the Assembly Hall lots. Detailed itinerary is attached.

See attached updated itinerary for Six Flags. We will load the buses at 6:45am. Doors open at 6:15, and check-in begins at 6:30. Bring your Band polo shirt and your folder to turn in. You will need money for lunch and dinner in the park. Have a great day!

Wind Symphony performs at the ISU Concert Band contest on Friday, April 27. Students should check in at the UHS band room at 4pm. Please see the ISU itinerary for details.

This year's Jazz Café theme is “Mardi Gras in May.” We
hope you will come hear the fantastic UHS and UMS jazz bands. It is always a
fun evening with the proceeds from the sale of delicious desserts to benefit
the UHS band programs. We need your
help to make this event a success. We
are asking band families to support this fundraiser by donating a
dessert (or two) that we can sell that evening. In addition to dessert donations, a Dessert Coordinator, Beverage Coordinator and Publicity Coordinator are wanted. We also need volunteers at the event to setup, serve and clean up.

will donate for the café and how you can help with volunteer needs.

We have 68 students signed up for the Six Flags band trip. To
accommodate this group, the band has reserved a 55-passenger charter
bus, and four rental vans (7 passengers each). We need 8 adult chaperons, 4 of whom are van drivers. Please help make this trip a reality! Contact Band Boosters or Mr. Hicks if you will join us as a chaperone and/or driver.
When: Saturday, May 12
Where: Six Flags Great America theme park, Gurnee, Illinois
Departure from UHS: approximately 5am
Return to UHS: approximately 11:30 pm |

The Wind Symphony is performing on Saturday, May 5, 10:30 a.m., on the Great Hall Stage at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts as part of the University of Illinois SuperState Concert Band Festival. This is one of the highest honors a concert band can receive in the state of Illinois; it is the equivalent of an athletic team playing for the state championship. Congratulations to the Wind Symphony!
