Dear Members:

I hope you are all enjoying this wonderful Colorado winter!

This month the Board and I appointed the Nominating Committee. The Committee will consist of five members, at least two of which are current Board members.  This year's list of members appointed to the Nominating Committee are:  Danna Weber, Pat Jones, Marcia Myers, Paulette Krueger and June Leonard.  They will present nominees for officers at the April general meeting. The names of nominees will be published in the May UPSC Newsletter. An absentee ballot will be included in the May Newsletter. Should anyone like to volunteer to serve as an officer for the 2012-2013 year, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sandi Wickham and Vicki Jones will be co-chairs for the Combined Games Day on Feb. 9 from 9:00 to 1:00 at the Woodland Park Library (downstairs). Deadline to sign up is Feb. 4. RSVP to your group's chairperson. Everyone please bring a dish for a pot luck lunch. Drinks and paper products will be provided. Please see details in the Combined Games Day article in t Newsletter. This is a fun event, so I hope to see you there!

Our luncheon in January was at the Garden of the Gods Trading Post. Thank you to Sherry Chellis, Debbie Belock and Lydia Eells for planning this luncheon. Pat Jones' word of the month is Begin. Begin to start each day with a positive attitude, begin to be happy, begin to start something new. begin to smile more, make a new friend.
