UPLIFT signs agreement with CHAITANYA supported GMSS Women's Federation

Uplift signed a formal agreement to partner with Gramin Mahila Swayam Siddha Sangh ,a women's SHG federation supported and nurtured by CHAITANYA in the rural block of Khed in Pune district. Uplift has designed a product designed based on the specific needs of women covering even normal deliveries and compensation for transportation.

A dedicated OPD service is being put in place to provide out patient services.

Community Representatives On Uplift Board

In a landmark decision, in the AGM of Uplift this September (2009) , Mrs Vandana Navle and Mr Nand Kumar Rajeshirke from Annapurna Parivar and Parvati Swayam Rojgar respectively were nominated as Directors on the Board of UIA.
 
This was in continuance of the people led vision of UIA and heralds a coming of age of the efforts at empowerment of the communities in managing their risks together.

ILO MIF's study on Uplift Mutual Model

The ILO through its Micro Insurance Innovation facility has deputed CIRM(IMFR Chennai) to do an exhaustive case study on Uplift Mutuals to ascertain its innovation for availing its grant.
 
CIRM has done the field work and Uplift has provided all necessary information for the study.
 
The study is expected to be ready for public circulation by August 2009 end.

Life Mutual Product

After trying the life micro insurance product with insurance companies and not so good experience with them, Uplift has decided to create its own life mutual product.Watch this space for more news.
