Rangers, it's a new year!

posted Nov 20, 2011 9:45 AM by melissa macarewa

Ok RANGERS.
It's a new year. But good thing for you, you don't have start from the beginning... AGAIN.
So here it is, since this is already year 2 that you all have been in this AY class, we need to buckle down and get things done. I'm serious, and you all know I am. So this is my challenge to you.

Take responsibility.
Please.

The Rangers Record Card is attached to this post. Check it out, scan it through, study it, and see what you haven't done. Whatever it is, however much it is, YOU are responsible for getting it completed by the end of January. Don't go asking me what you have turned in, what you haven't. Like I said, it is YOUR responsibility to know. You have 2 months to finish it. Why the end of January? Because I want to get you guys at least started and on your way with your next class before the big PUC gathering.

SOOOO, at every meeting (Saturday AND Sunday), I will be collecting ANY homework assignments from you that you have already completed. My advice to you, do one or two assignments done per week, this way you pace yourselves and get things done! Again, be responsible!

Verse for the day:

For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
2 Timothy 1:7

If you have questions, holler at me.
Tanks.

LISTEN PEOPLE!

posted Dec 20, 2010 12:36 AM by melissa macarewa

So, since only SOME of you have turned in homework, I am being super nice and letting you have one more week to turn it in. HOWEVER, it must be in BEFORE FRIDAY EVENING (SABBATH). Therefore, this means you need to email it to me (check Staff 2009-2010 for my email address) Please everyone, get these assignments in!! I can't tell you enough. If you don't complete your assignments, there will be consequences. Things that will take up MORE of your time, if time is what is keeping you from doing your homework. I really don't know what else to tell you, this is just something YOU need to motivate yourself to do. I don't want to hear anymore excuses--I don't want to hear "my computer/printer's broken," "my internet isn't working," "i can't download any files." I know for a fact that you all have friends that have access to ALL these things! You need to make more of an effort to do all that you can to get these assignments completed. Please please please. I can't ask you enough. It's hurting my feelings that you aren't finishing these assignments. I feel like such a failure as your instructor, because there is clearly something I'm not doing to make you guys do what you need to do. So please, turn these assignments in by THIS FRIDAY EVENING--BEFORE SUNSET

When?

FRIDAY EVENING, December 24, 2010, CHRISTMAS EVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow, just realized it's going to be Christmas eve. Now I'm SURE you don't want to do be doing last minute homework on CHRISTMAS EVE!!!
PEOPLE!! GET TO IT.

Thank you.

hey everyone!
Sorry it took me so long to post up your new assignment. So because I did, I'm going to keep this weeks assignment simple.

Assignments:
ALL OF LAST WEEKS ASSIGNMENT IS DUE THIS SATURDAY!!!

Also,
Please read Steps to Christ Chapters 5&6.
Chapter 5 - Consecration
Chapter 6 - Faith and Acceptance
Fill out the Study Guides and turn it in.

Simple enough??? Think of this as a freebie assignment. I just gave you one extra week to complete your last assignment. If you DO NOT have it turned in to me by Saturday, December 4, 2010, you will be required to complete an EXTRA ASSIGNMENT. You hear that?? AN EXTRA ASSIGNMENT will be assigned to those who DO NOT turn in all their assignments ON TIME!! Please, guys, let's try harder!!

Remember, keep passing out those GLOW tracts every day!! 1 a day. So easy. If you need more, I have some. This week I'll make sure to give you enough for 2 weeks (I forgot last week, sorry) ANDDDDD, don't forget to complete your last week of your EXERCISE LOG!!!!! I hope you guys are faithful and honest, I can't wait to see the different activities you did and if you gained anything from this :)

R to the ANGERS.

Rangers!!
First of all, I want to apologize for not being there again for the last class. Epic fail. Forgive me.

Secondly, ASSIGNMENTS!!
Now you guys know the rule, assignments need to be turned in completed and ON TIME!! I got most of your assignments, but not all. I wait for the day that ALL of you will turn in your assignments on time! So let's make it happen. Let me just say that if you miss an assignment, you're only making it harder for yourself, because eventually, you're going to have to turn it in.. all this work is going to pile up, and before you know it, you've got TONS of homework to make up. That's a NO-NO. OK?! So keep up and be good at doing your homework!

Alright, so this weeks assignment...
1) Refer to your Rangers record card on this one:
    Spiritual Discovery: 1B:
Please type out the Baptismal vows, have it ready at our next meeting, and we will discuss the Biblical reasons for the 13 doctrines listed in the         vows.

2) Making Friends: IIA. Discuss the need for leadership, and how it affects me.
I'd like a one-page paper on this. Please have it TYPED, double-spaced, and ready for me at our next meeting!

3) Read Steps to Christ: Chapters 3&4; and complete the Study guide questions accordingly.

4) KEEP filling out your EXERCISE LOG!!! Remember, it's ALL month, meaning 4 consecutive weeks. If you  miss a week--START OVER!

5) Continue to pass out the GLOW TRACTS. If you need more, ask me! I've got plenty!!
GOAL=7 GLOW tracts a week. One per day. So simple :)

Any questions??
Ask me, email me, holler.

Thanks everyone!!

First of all, I just want to thank you all for being so flexible and meeting me today for our "impromptu" meeting. I was just so bummed last week that I wasn't able to come and teach your class.  Believe it or not, I kind of look forward to meeting with you guys and seeing what you've learned throughout the past couple weeks. It's fulfilling to me :) Anyway, I just wanted to recap on what we went over today. Congratulations to most of you who have finished your verses! Be ready to recite them again the next time I see you! OK?!? Memorize these verses and write them in your LONG term memory. Better yet, hide them in your heart.

Like it says in Psalm 119:11, "Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You."
DO IT.

Also, we went over our next assignment.
1. We're going to begin our EXERCISE LOG. We're going to do it over the entire month of NOVEMBER. So, naturally, we will begin Monday, November 01, 2010!! Be ready. An exercise log layout is provided online. Just go to Read me. the form is attached on the bottom. Make sure you print one of these out and start filling them out so we can get fit!!

2. Read Steps the Christ, Chapters 1&2. If you still did not receive a hardcopy book of Steps to Christ, click this link
Steps to Christ online copy HERE!! Then you will need to fill out the Study Guide to both of these chapters. You can find this under the "READ ME" link above. It is also attached to the bottom of that post.

3. Honors: The honors you guys chose were: Health and Healing, Baking, and Sign Language (YAY)
We will hopefully be doing these honors pretty soon! I'm excited, clearly, as to what you all decided on. So this should be F-U-N :)

Alrighty, if you have any questions, please let me know! I will be continuously posting new things on this site, so I cannot stress enough, ALWAYS CHECK THE SITE!! If you don't have internet access, LET ME KNOW, so we can somehow communicate what assignments/announcements we have next. OK?!?

Thanks ya'll.

Updates.

Rangers!

Update #1:
Just wanted to remind you all that your assignments are DUE THIS SATURDAY!! We are having our next AY class meeting this Sabbath, Oct 16, 2010. So I expect you all to be ready with your assignments in hand and scripture on your heart, because you're going to have to recite them back to me, remember? Whether in song or just voice... do it!! There is NO excuse for you to not have these assignments completed, I've given ample time to do them. If you haven't read Steps to Christ, here is the link to the book. On Sabbath, I'll bring you a hardcopy so you don't have to read it online if you don't want to. But for this assignment, if you don't already have a book, just read it off this link for now. OK?!

Update nomor dua:
As Rangers, you all need to complete at least one honor of your choice that you have not completed. Click the link for a list of honors available. Any ideas?? Come to AY class on Sabbath with your ideas on what honors you want to complete by the end of this year!! I need suggestions!

Update numero tres:
Thank you guys for doing such a great job during induction! I am so proud of all of you.

reminder: all underlined (except "NO) are links!! check 'em out.

Read me.

Hi Rangers!

So first of all, HELLO!!
I want to thank you guys for the birthday love. I really appreciate it! You guys sing beautifully..well, most of you do. HAHA. Just kidding!! Having pathfinders on my birthday wasn't so bad. I love being around you guys, so it definitely made the day a lot more fun :)
Anyway, on to business.

For those of you who have not completed the first assignment yet, here it is: DUE FRIDAY, OCT 1, 2010 (Turn in at Teen Institute)
1. Please write a brief synopsis on the well-written book, Steps to Christ by E.G. White. 2 paragraphs, preferably typed.
2. Please write one paragraph on what you are expecting to get out of this class, what you want to learn, do, achieve, etc.

And for the SUPER trooper pathfinders (Elden and Cathlyn) of the week,
You can either get started on the new assignment or have a homework-free week :) Thanks for being so diligent!!

New assignment: DUE SATURDAY, OCT 16, 2010 (Turn in at AY Class)
1. Read Chapters 1&2 in Steps to Christ and fill out the Study guide for those chapters (see attached).
2. Complete Spiritual Discovery: Section 1A
Memorize one verse from each category, however, for one of the seven categories, choose the "option" option and memorize a verse that is not listed and pertains to that category/topic (see attached).
3. We will be starting an Exercise Log for the upcoming months of October/November. Attached is a template you can write/type what you did for exercise that day.

P.s. EVERYONE, don't forget to check for Companion assignments, ok!!

Hey there, Rangers!!
How's it going?
Well, as you all know, we have finally started our Pathfinder year, and to kick off the new year and our new class.. I have your first assignment!! WAHOO!! :)

First of all, I want to explain to you of the importance of getting your assignments in ON TIME!!! You guys are no longer "Friend's." You're in Ranger now, and we expect you to take more responsibility about getting things in on time, being places on time, attending events when you are required to. We need YOU guys to set a good example to the younger pathfinders! So I'm expecting a lot from you guys, know that! Ok so, this is just a little, simple assignment I have for you. Ready?? Ok.

Part 1.
Write a one paragraph explanation of what what you expect to get from this class, what skills you want to obtain, and tell me how excited you are to be in this class. You're stoked, right? Of course you are.
Part 2.
Since we will start reading the amazingly, inspiring book known as Steps to Christ, I'd like you to write me a 2 paragraph synopsis of the book. Meaning, what do you think this book is about.. somewhat of a "pre-evaluation" of the book, if I may.

If you have any questions, feel free to give me a holler.
This assignment is due the next time we meet for class. Which is..... I don't know.
Ask Mr. Director. But as soon as I find out, I'll make sure to let you all know, ok!
