Another Trick-or-Truth Success!

posted Nov 9, 2011 7:49 PM by Pearson Posumah   [ updated Nov 9, 2011 7:50 PM ]

Sorry for the late update, but on behalf of the staff, I'd like to say THANK YOU to those who participated in collecting the cans and handing out the glow tracts. We staff can plan all sorts of event, but it would not be a success without your participation. Monday October 31, 2011 was another one of those successful events. We collected 150 pounds worth of canned foods to donate! Good job everyone! Praise God!

LOL...true story.

Success!

Dear Pathfinders/Staff,

Thank you for your support and love for the past few years.  It has been a privilege and blessing to serve you as your Pathfinder leader.  I greatly appreciate your dedication to the club, and I pray that you may continue to do Gods will.  I especially appreciate the gifts, the Bible and the going away party, it was such a surprise and a blessing.  May you stay faithful to God and remember to pray for one another.  Again, thank you so much and Happy Sabbath :)

Best Regards,

Success!

I just wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU all for being so great this past Sunday! As you all probably already know, we collected about 190 lbs worth of cans!!! How awesome is that?!? That has got to be worth a lot. I cannot even tell you how proud I am of all of you. GLOWing in the dark was also a success!! Over 100 GLOW tracts were handed out in one night by our group. There were many other groups out in different areas of the country that also participated in "GLOW in the dark." Can you imagine how many tracts were handed out throughout the whole US that night? SO many seeds planted!! The Lord is definitely working! =)

I hope you all had fun, if you want, we could make it a yearly event. You all are truly amazing and I am so blessed to be able to experience this with you, Pathfinders. Thanks for doing such a great job!!

Blessing to you all!

P.S. I will announce the winner to the PHOTO contest at this Saturdays meeting! You have to be there to claim your prize!

Halloween Can Collecting

posted Oct 26, 2010 4:28 PM by Pearson Posumah   [ updated Oct 26, 2010 6:16 PM ]

Pathfinders,

As you all know part of the Pathfinders program is reaching out to the community. This Sunday, October 31st, we will be going door-to-door trick or canned fooding(real word) :D Instead of asking for candy, we will be asking for any canned food/non-perishable food that we will deliver for donation to the Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County (CAPSBC) Food Bank. Click here for more info on CAPSBC.

 WHAT:

    - event: Trick-or-Canned Food (Can collecting)

    - to wear: Class A uniform

    - to bring:

  1. Large Brown Bag (get from Stater Bros if you can)

  2. Empty Boxes** (IndoMie sized box/any portable box that could contain cans) OR a Wagon if you have one
  3. Flashlight (pocket sized, location may be dark)
**If possible. Staff will provide boxes.

    - to say at the door:     This is what I’ve found other people who have done this say at the opening of the door:  “TRICK OR CANNED FOOD! Hi, we’re from the ________ club and we’re collecting canned food or any non-perishable food that we will be donating to the needy in the community. Will you be willing to donate some?”

This should be sufficient. IF the homeowner somehow ask where the canned food will be donated, then you can go more on detail and say, “We’re going to deliver these canned-foods to Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino. It’s a food bank located in Tippecanoe Avenue in San Bernardino."

If you have other ways of approaching the homeowners please share among the Pathfinders.

WHO:

This event is for all Pathfinders and staff. Pathfinders will go in pairs and be chaperoned by a staff.

WHEN:

Sunday, October 31st

 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM

WHERE:

Bryn Mawr . Meet at Bryn Mawr Elementary School

Refer to map(pictures attached below) for route on which house to collect food.

Route 1(Pink): Elden & Patricia
Route 2(Blue): Jason & Bianca
Route 3(This color): Nathan & Whitney
Route 4(Green): Samuel, Tabitha & Britney
Route 5(Yellow): Andrey & Franklin
Route 6(Red): Marcella & Laura
Route 7(Orange): Cathlynn & Emily

Remember to smile and show enthusiasm, and make this event fun and enjoyable. Also, remember that our mission is to collect canned food that will feed the hungry in our community; should the homeowners insist on giving away candies IN ADDITION TO the canned food, then we will respectfully deny. Just kidding. Go ahead and take some. Do not forget to THANK them. Enjoy and Happy Trick-or-Canned fooding!

Halloween GLOW in the dark!!

posted Oct 25, 2010 12:24 AM by melissa macarewa   [ updated Oct 28, 2010 3:25 AM ]

Hey Pathfinders!

Happy Halloween. PSYCH!! happy GLOWing and CANning.. ? Haha.
This year for Halloween, Sunday, October 31, 2010, we will be trick or TRUTHing. First off, we're going to be dressed all awesome-ly and sharp in our class A to go around collecting canned goods for our can drive. What a gracious, giving, and unselfish way to spend this supposed "holiday," right? So if you have any empty boxes that we can use to carry these cans, bring them! We definitely could use some :) Also, we will be giving GLOW tracts to everyone we meet that night, whether it be to those who donate or just kids on the street trick or treating. We're going to spread it to anyone and everyone we can!! Every year, GLOW goes "trick or truthing," so even though we are not near a conference area that participates in this, this can be our own version of "trick or truthing." Click HERE for the tract we'll be passing out. Click HERE for tract #2 we'll be passing out. Please read both before Sunday.

EXCITED?? I sure am! I look forward to seeing you all THERE!!!!
p.s. you know the drill. underlined words to open links.
