Upi Elementary Mission Statement: Upi Elementary empowers all students to be academically, socially and technologically prepared for a successful future as productive and respectful citizens of our local and global communities.
Upi Elementary School Hafa Adai and welcome to the Upi GATE Webpage. Upi Elementary is home to more than 850 students. Upi Elementary was first built in 1958 as Andersen Elementary. The name was changed in 1990, and the school was rebuilt in 1998. We are the Tottots. A tottot is the Chamoru word for the Marianas Fruit-Dove, which is a type of colorful partridge. The Upi GATE Program currently has about 47 members. Mr. LaPlante is in his ninth year as the GATE Instructor. In Upi's GATE program, academics and performing arts are combined to provide a well rounded curriculum designed to benefit each and every member. Some of our more popular clubs include the Book Club, the Puzzle Club, the Young Authors' Club, the Recorder Club, and the Puppet Show Club. For the third year, Upi's GATE Program will be participating in the Islandwide Math Olympiad Program and Competition.
