Disease

Let's suppose you work at the busiest US airport as an air traffic controller. All day long you are responsible for coordinating each take-off, landing, and taxiing of every flight that is scheduled. One day, during the middle of your shift, the communication system breaks. You have no way of letting the airlines know whose turn it is. All you can do is watch what unfolds on your radar. How long would it take before chaos set in? How long would it take before you got really stressed out?

When your brainstem can't communicate with your body chaos sets in...your body gets stressed out. Things that used to function normally begin malfunctioning (diabetes, cancer, heart disease, liver disease, hypertension/high blood pressure, constipation, ADHD, depression, MS, respiratory illness, kidney failure, etc.). Little organisms that were kept under control begin to riot (viruses, bacterial infections, fungal infections, etc.). Your body tries desperately to maintain order but over time things keep getting piled on.

Points to Ponder

  • What are you currently "living with"?
  • How much does it affect your confidence, motivation, or ability to participate in your life?
  • How much chaos or stress has it caused you?

How does the brainstem lose its ability to communicate with the body?
