I grow weary of typical novels with their realism, unrealism, pessimism, violence, and exaggerated sex. I have resolved to write novels that are fun to read, that are, so to say, "upbeat". I still include plenty of character development, tension, conflict, sex, intrigue, and all the rest. But I never forget whimsy. I find life endlessly amusing, and you will too!

So far I have created two novels in this unique genre. You can buy them on Amazon.com. Just search for them by title or use the following links:

Long Night in a Hot Tub   (link to Amazon.com)                                             Diana and the Peace Helmet  (link to Amazon.com)

Review of "Long Night in a Hot Tub", by Joanie Anderson:

This novel caught my interest more than any other I've picked up recently, and held my attention! I couldn't wait to find out what happens next with Diana and her strange, hypnotic invention; and all those love-starved characters in orbit around her. I especially liked the fact that there wasn't any of the sickness and sadism you find in so many novels these days. Lighten up, authors! Where's your sense of humor? Give it a break! I want something that's fun to read! Guess I'll have to try your next book, Mr. Bowden, "Diana and the Peace Helmet."

Review of "Diana and the Peace Helmet", by Brad Swanson:

In this novella, a spunky and idealistic woman and a skeptical but brilliant inventor join forces to create a device that will revolutionize human emotion -- for good or evil. The media moguls want to get their hands on it, but our heroes have laid a dizzying series of traps for them -- and spring them all on a balmy California evening while the wine and repartee flow copiously. In the end, you'll wonder exactly how it all happened but rejoice in the outcome as Diana and her peace helmet set out to conquer the world for happiness.

Review of "Diana and the Peace Helmet", by "The Girl for all Seasons":

I had almost forgotten novels like this existed! So many books these days are full of really gross stuff. This one is full of fun and excitement, and has a lot of romantic intrigue and a plot that absolutely sucks you in. I really got off on the "Drago" character, the mysterious Hungarian chess-player. Actually, all the characters are great, especially the screen-writer, Poe, who is kind of dour and maybe a little insecure, and has a unique but rather downbeat view of life. I thought Lenny the "private dick" was funny, especially the way Starla wrapped him around her little finger. I hope the author writes more stories like this!
