With the short week, I'll be presenting a book I first shared with the students during the Thanksgiving week.  Unfortunately, most of children didn't hear it because of the two days we had then.  Now, with the Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday classes scheduled to visit the library this week, the balance of our school population will get that chance.  The book is South, the second...or the fourth story, depending upon your point of view, by Patrick McDonnell that I've shared with the children this year.  I continue to post the daily and Sunday strips the children have gathered for the "Mutts" wall, which has nearly filled the north face of the drop ceiling in back of the library.  One of the final things we will do before the year ends is write Patrick McDonnell, asking him to speak at our school.  It is my hope that him seeing our "Mutts" will be the final incentive in bringing him for a visit.
