There are four branches of the Society:
1. The Model U.N The Model U.N. is a student represented version of the actual United Nations. Each student represents a nation-state and they meet to debate a different geo-political issue on a bi-weekly basis. Every year the Model U.N. holds a "Big Debate", in which students debate world issues on stage for the University public to enjoy. If you are interested in joining, please contact Michael Carroll at carrollm4@scranton.edu 2. The Mock Senate The Mock Senate is a student administered version of the U.S. Senate. Students represent senators from various states and take on their personas, ideals, and policies as they debate the issues that affect America today. It is ran almost exactly akin to the actual Senate so students can experience first hand how the policies of our government are created. The Mock Senate division of the Political Society is currently inactive. However if you are interested in Mock Senate, please contact Shohin Hodizoda-Vance at hodizodavas2@scranton.edu. 3. The Trinity Journal The Trinity Journal is a publication of the University of Scranton Political Society in conjunction with the Department of Political Science. This Journal is a selection of student submitted and reviewed essays in a wide range of disciplines, including: politics, history, political philosophy, sociology, and economics. It is distributed to the University and local community and is a opportunity for students to get published and share their views with others. If you are interested in having your article published or becoming an editor, please contact Keri Taylor at taylork6@scranton.edu. 4. Political Discussion Club The Political Discussion Club is a student ran club that is a more casual and less formal group in which students can get together, discuss and debate various domestic and foreign political topics. Meetings are usually a free flowing discussions with limited rules, with emphasis on participation and enjoyment.
