Welcome! GLAM is open to all MA and PhD students in Linguistics at the University of Minnesota. GLAM works to increase communication between the faculty/administration and graduate students. We organize professional development workshops, host an annual graduate student conference (MNSWOL) and provide outreach opportunities. She is in her third year in the linguistics program. Eden Kaiser Eden is in her sixth year in the linguistics program at the U of M. She is interested in sociolinguistics, phonetics (especially nasalization), and phonology. Her dissertation explores sociophonetic aspects of Hmong American English in Minnesota. Paula Chesley Paula is in her third year in the linguistics program. Her interests are morphology, with a focus on lexical productivity, statistical modeling of natural language, computational linguistics, and Romance linguistics (especially French). For 2008-2009, she is the Social Committee Chair (and yes, there are actual responsibilities associated with this position :) ).
