UNO SPS-Sponsored Projects

Possible projects for the 2009-2010 school year. We are interested in allowing anyone to help plan these events so if you think it will be fun, please contact us!

• Einstein Week 2010 -- Need ideas for guest speakers as well as more community-inclusive events. Note that Einstein Week may coincide with some other events/projects.
• Demonstrations -- If you like building cool science stuff, let us know. We like large flashy things that show off principles of physics.
  
• Observatory Nights -- Holding more regular open-houses with our telescope. Includes designing some presentation materials to go with it (particularly suited for younger kids)
• Fund-raising -- Not just for ourselves and our own events, but also helping raise money for worthy charities and/or educational outreach programs.
• Science Challenge -- If we can get volunteers to contact schools and talk with teachers, it would be nice to have a small event in the Spring for middle/high school. A trebuchet-building contest, etc. Would need help drafting rules and being judges, etc.
