Pizza Lunches!

UNO SPS sponsors weekly Pizza Lunches!! Dates are not yet set for Fall 2008, but check the website as well as the hallway near the Physics Dept for informational flyers.

We invite all members, old and new, to come hang out with us for lunch and join us in a game of chess, go, darts, etc., and just relax. Anyone curious about joining the club or honor society is welcome to stop by at this time and chat with us.

We only ask a small donation of $1 per slice to help cover costs.

Finding the SPS Lounge

The SPS club room and student lounge is located in SC 2100; second floor of the Science Building on the side closer to the quad. It's at the very end of a mini-hallway.

 Past Socials and Events

Physics isn't always work. In fact, physics is roughly 87.53256626% (plus/minus 0.0005%) having fun! Here are some examples of fun things we do:

•  Getting pizza in questionable locations in New Orleans
  
•  Attending the SPS Zone Meeting and getting tours of LIGO's gravity wave detector
  
•  Going to lunch with the guy that coined the term "dark energy" (many thanks to Dr. Michael Turner for coming to talk to us)
• Firing our trebuchet at the lakefront and getting questioned by the police
• Fantastic barbecues in 100% humidity weather
