USF WOMEN’S RUGBY CLUB
Yes, there is a women’s rugby team at USF!
 With
the help of Lori Hensic (a graduate student) and Otto Wacker (men’s
Head Coach) the team had it’s inaugural season in 2007-2008. Having
just started and lacking sufficient numbers to play a full league
schedule, the USF players went to a few tournaments and were able to
compete with other players on their teams to get game experience.
In the 2008-2009 season and the addition of a full
time coach (Kathy Flores) to replace Lori who was very busy with her
school schedule and the help of President Lindsay Ziegler (a squad
member from last year) , the team was able to add players to their
roster and participate in the league, though their scores did not count
due to lack of a full “USF only” squad. Our goal for next year is to
have a full team roster of at least 30 players to be competitive in the
Northern California Div II league. |
