ACADEMIC PROJECTS

Computer Aided Process Planning:  Worked with another student to examine how CAPP could be applied to a local rivet manufacturer.  Reported on and designed a conceptual system that integrated CAPP to the current production system.

Seating Simulator: Researched the ergonomics of student seating in a classroom setting.  Designed and created an adjustable seating simulator based on findings.

Pick and Place Simulation: Worked with 3 other students to design and create a workcell that used a GE P55 Industrial Robotic arm in conjunction with an Allan-Bradley SLC-100 PLC to carry out manufacturing specific functions to simulate a pick and place shrink fit simulation.

Heat Exchanger Analysis: A team project that investigated a double-pipe heat exchanger mounted horizontally and vertically.  Utilized thermocouples and other technology to analyze parallel flow and counter flow.

Graduate Assistant~ 2006 – 2008

  • Planned and coordinated operational and program activities of the assigned residence hall.

  • Served as the chairman and program coordinator for the first ever Homecoming Housing Alumni Reunion.

  • Performed research assignments and chaired assignments including newsletters to parents, Little Sibling Weekend, creating a digital interface for residence hall schematics, and organizing resources for student orientation.

  • Executed multiple programming initiatives for 36 residents and collectively programmed for the entire residence hall community.

  • Assisted the director of housing to perform many administrative tasks such as memorandums, spreadsheets, filing, general paperwork, physical labor, and summer camp/conference communication.
