PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS

Just what form all this will take is what’s being explored now, and Ken has invited anyone who’s interested to participate in this process as a core participant.  This is a person who interacts with others to recognize what is needed throughout the network and provide the expertise, services, and infrastructure to help people in Unfettered Mind help themselves.

There is no such “thing” as Unfettered Mind.  There is no tangible organization – simply a set of interactions in which the quality of wakefulness is present.  The intention of UM is to create the conditions for awakening to happen and to avoid attaching to the appearance of an organization or falling prey to institutional projections.  What we call “infrastructure” is just the arising and dissolving of relationships and interactions.  So thinking in terms of fixed structures and entities won’t work because they’ll be constantly changing.  And the Core Participants are simply a set of EoA’s in the network that have a high degree of interactivity with the network itself.

The challenges for this group are:

  • To recognize what is needed.
  • To help define specific ongoing tasks, roles and forms of support for UM’s various activities, and then to implement them.
  • To create the tools and opportunities for people to form the appropriate Environments of Awareness – but not to do the work of formation for them.
  • To ensure that Ken and other experienced teachers are available as resources to all EoAs, but in such a way that the EoAs won’t be dependent upon their presence either to exist or to function.
  • To build in an essential fluidity, openness and responsiveness that will counteract permanence, attachment and identification of self with the roles and functions.
  • To function effectively by working and interacting together in attention.

I am wondering, who provides the checks? Is this to only come from the core participants, Ken and the other "experienced teachers" (as named by whom)? If so, I am not sure that is wise.
