Coming Soon & Update on Dayton RS Shielded fiasco

I have two projects I'm getting ready to publish: the loud, paper-cone 3-way Tarkus, and a floorstanding 2-way using the Dayton RS180 + RS28 (silk and aluminum dome). Just getting my fancy photos and graphs in order; one or both projects should be ready within the next two weeks.

Also, a Parts Express board member was nice enough to lend me a pair of the new unshielded RS180. I tested their Thiele/Small parameters, as well as their Frequency Response. The graphs looked promising. The real proof, however, would be in listening. So I hooked up the Amigas with the new RS180 and to my pleasant surprise, the speaker sounded just like it should. In my opinion, that means that designs that called for the old, shielded RS180 are truly compatible with the new, unshielded drivers. Phew! So, that's one down. Verdict's still out on the unshielded RS150 and RS225, until someone lends me a pair to test.
