We are thrilled to present the website for Service North Carolina at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!  Our hope is that this website will further unite the university in service throughout the month of March.  Service North Carolina is a time where all of UNC-Chapel Hill comes together to serve the campus, community, state, nation and world.  Our committee has organized several projects on campus and in the community and have partnered with student organizations to open up their great work to other interested students.  We hope that this action will foster collaboration and inclusiveness through campus. 

In the past, Service North Carolina has consisted of only one week, but we are expanding to an entire month as a call to service to celebrate the memory of Eve Carson.  Eve demonstrated the traits of inclusiveness, collaboration, and service to others, but Eve's service to the world was not something she just did, it was something that she lived through every moment of her life.  She was always the first to lift you up when you were down, give you a hug when you needed one, and show her appreciation and thanks for just having the chance to know you.  Service is a broad concept, and we want to encourage you to display a lifestyle of service throughout March not only through volunteering, but also in your daily life by showing kindness and consideration for others!

The primary goal in organizing Service North Carolina has always been to encourage students who do not normally participate in service to go out and volunteer, with the hope that these students will continue that tradition of service for the rest of their time at UNC-Chapel Hill and beyond.  We also want to encourage those who do service regularly to try something new and meet new people.  Throughout March, we want you to capture your service through photographs, and we aim to put these pictures together as a collage in the Hallway of the First Floor of the Union throughout March.  You will have the opportunity to email these photos to servicenc@unc.edu and we will print them out for you and put them up.  Please note that once you email us your pictures, they become the property of Service North Carolina.

The list of service opportunities is to your left under List of Projects.  Under Random Acts of Kindness, there are suggestions to guide you in living a life of service by showing kindness and generosity to others.
