Hello to everybody. I’ve never contributed to the holiday newsletter so I’m excited to say hi to all of you. Since it’s my first time, I’m going to start off with a short note and maybe go longer next year. As always it’s a fun but crazy time of year here at UNCG. Lots of things are the same as they were over ten years ago when I came here to get my MFA, and lots are different. For me personally, life in the Flannery house is always interesting with three teenagers (Patrick is 18, Tommy 16, and Bonnie 13). My major announcement is that this year will be the TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE UNCG NEW YORK SHOWCASE! In honor of this, we’re hoping to have as many of you join us for the Alumni dress rehearsal. The date is May 2nd. The location will be the Sage Theatre at 711 7th Avenue (b/w 47th and 48th streets). All the UNCG theatre faculty is hoping that everyone who’s been connected with the UNCG Showcase or just with UNCG theatre will come out. The showcase will last about thirty minutes. We’ll definitely have a reception afterwards and then head out to a bar. If you are on the UNCG theatre list serve, you should see the lots of details coming in the next few months.
