Computing Day
In honor of Computer Science Education Week, The UNCG Stars Alliance partnering with the CSTA NC Piedmont Chapter and solely sponsored by the Greensboro Jaycees will be hosting a Computing Day celebration on December 3rd! Computing Day is a chance for high school students with beginner's experience in programming concepts to participate workshops involving two exciting fields of Computing, game development using Scratch and web design! The students will also have a chance to create their personal project individually or in teams of two with prizes being awarded for the best Scratch and web design ideas. The categories will include 'Funniest', 'Most Creative/Unique', and 'Best Overall'. Check-in time will begin at 8:30 A.M., and Computing Day will last from 9:00 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. Lunch will be provided and there will be a keynote speaker to talk about the exciting opportunities a career in Computing can offer. Most of the activities will be held in the Mary Macy Petty Building on UNCG's campus. Information about student drop-off and pick-up procedures as well as parking information will be emailed out to participants.
