UNC Asheville PAWS (Peers Advocating Wellness Strategies)  is a university based student organization focusing on comprehensive health and safety initiatives.

 

Our mission is to provide student leadership which actively promotes positive lifestyle decisions concerning personal and community health.

 

This organization can provide Certified Peer Educator (CPE) Training allowing peer educators to develop leadership skills that enable them to successfully develop and implement campus and community programs.

 

   

This organization will provide activities and health promotion campaigns that:

 

  • support peer education, campus leadership, and activism on health and safety issues

 

  • empower students to create healthier and safer campus communities

 

  • promote the use of positive communication skills

 

  • create and foster a network of college students who support health and safety initiatives

 

Previous programs and campaigns include but are not limited to: Safe Spring Break, Alcohol Awareness Week, Lovefest, Body Image Awareness, Sexual Assault and Violence Awareness, Healthy Relationships, and Stress Reduction.
